Making a Deal with the Devil....
Is a very dangerous game.
President Trump has announced on a Truth Social post that a deal with Iran has been reached, and the agreement will be signed in Switzerland this Friday. Details to follow.
When you make a deal with the Devil, you must expect to be deceived. Liars lie, and cheaters cheat. That is their modus operandi. The Islamic Republic of Iran has been composed of liars and cheaters since it was formed in 1979, and I don’t think there is any reason to believe that they will change their behavior now. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t believe I am.
President Trump has been under a great deal of pressure to end the conflict and allow Iranian oil to flow through the Strait of Hormuz, dramatically lowering the price of gas and diesel fuel at the pump before the mid-term elections in November. He is aware that if the Democrats take control of the House and Senate, his chances of attaining any of his additional stated goals are basically zero. Indeed, he could be impeached by the House and convicted and removed from office by the Senate.
However, that assumes that the eighty million Americans who voted for him in 2024 are going to put up with that without a fight. Such actions could throw the country into a state of chaos or even civil war. It is a very dangerous game the Democrats are playing.
At least a portion of the 25 billion dollars supposedly to be freed up by the proposed agreement will inevitably flow into the depleted coffers of Iran’s proxies, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. Israel has already stated they aren’t going to be a signatory to the agreement, so the war will continue, albeit on a smaller scale.
Iran may back off on its nuclear ambitions for a while, but it will immediately begin to rebuild its military forces and armaments. Unless there is regime change, that is a given. Again, liars lie, and cheaters cheat.
We must all remember that we are dealing with the “Twelvers,” the most radical and dangerous cult of Islam. They WANT a nuclear war to facilitate the return of the Mahdi, the Twelfth Imam, who will lead his followers into paradise. The IRGC-backed mullahs may not be chanting “Death to America and Israel” for a while, but they’ll be thinking it.
In addition, America’s credibility as a reliable ally will suffer greatly. The promises we made to the Iranian dissidents and the worldwide Iranian diaspora will evaporate, and our reputation with it.
Our only hope is that the four-dimensional chess game that Trump has reportedly been playing is still on the table. That he will succeed in holding the House and Senate, continue the mass deportations, and expose the Democrats for what they are,
These are truly dangerous times. It could go either way. We must all pray for our nation as it approaches its 250th Anniversary.
